Tony Terry
My Best
(Golden Boy)

Mmm, who would have guessed that Tony Terry's still alive and recording music? Recalling his hits She's Fly or Lovey Dovey makes one realize how much time has passed and how the music scene has changed and diversified since then. We have heard New Jack, Swingbeat, Nu Soul, modern R&B that has become black pop, house, acid, garage etc.
But Tony's not the only one of "old" 80ies heroes back again, recent years saw albums from Miles Jaye, Freddie Jackson, Miki Howard, Melba Moore, Cameo or Kashif, all on small independent labels that usually offer more artistical freedom than the major labels.
Just like remarked on the Ali Ollie Woodson album for Expansion Tony's My Best isn't nothing we haven't heard before, but again pleasant enough. And it's really his best work today. In fact, it's more the album I wished Kenny Lattimore would've done for Arista.
