Sirius B Project

(CD Cafe De Soul)

2003 has been a fantastic year so far if you're into quality soul music. There have been fabulous releases by Frank McComb, Marlon Saunders, Maya Azucena, Deborah Bond, Organic Soul 3 or Lizz Wright amongst others and it looks like there's no backlash in sight.
Just add this album to the list of great albums of 2003.
Sirius B Project is a collective of eight musicians hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, that comes to you with a warm, organic instrumentation and a fabulous singer in the shape of Paige Lackey Martin, whose voice is a little reminiscent of Denise Williams. The feeling of this album is just plain, timeless soul that will still sound great in ten years.
It's hard to select a favourite song here since there's not a dull track amongst the fourteen songs, even the remixed versions of Love Has A Place In Time and Calling add something new to the songs and sound good.
There's even Donnie singing background vocals on some tracks to cause wider interest and on Always Remember he can be heard in his full glory together with Paige.
With summer turning into autumn soon at the time of writing it's always good to have music that captures the spirit of summer in one way or another, just listen to Autumn Breeze that makes you feel like lying relaxed in the late-summer's sun. Equally appealing is Midnight Silhouette, Roll or Intuition that features Alex Lattimore on vocals.
I could virtually name any song here. It's that good. Just get it, you won't be disapointed!
