Gavin Gregory has all the right stuff it takes to become a superstar, he has a great voice, writes and co-produces his own songs, spends - obviously - some time in the gym, to improve his good looks...the only thing he lacks right now is, that his name is not well-known but there's still the power of word of mouth to change that.
The five songs here are all equally good and just plain great soul music with catchy hooks. Whether it's the beautiful midtempo song $$$...On Ya Finger, a song about getting engaged, or the title track He's A Millionaire with its memorable background vocals.
Over And Over (Again) is a sweet soul ballad showing Gavin's vocal range, while Edge Of The Bed is a brilliant swinging midtempo groove, that's just destined to become a hit with the right promotion.
But Gavin's not only capable of recording what can be called modern soul music (without being nu soul), but also of recording a very decent urban/R&B song with BabySista, that addresses the issue of domestic abuse.
There's only one drop of bitterness about this 5 track EP. It's too short and I really would've liked to hear a full-length album from Gavin.
All in all, He's A Millionare is a very pleasant taster of what's certainly to come from Gavin Gregory in the near future, so make sure to check out his website and keep on spreading the word about him.
