Full Flava
Colour Of My Soul
(Dome)

Those familiar with Dome's backcatalogue certainly will remember Full Flava's first album Chinese Whispers from 2000. Three years on and Rob Derbyshire and Solomon Mullings are back with a new album that again features some great female vocalists on some soulful songs.
There are two great songs with Ex-Young Disciples singer Carleen Anderson (that are also available as first single), Stories and You Are.
Round And Round features the ubiquitous Romina Johnson and this song is a nice midtempo soul track.
Then there's Donna Odain on the funky Make It Right, Dome's own Beverlei Brown on Love Holds No Limit, another catchy soul song.
Ex-The Affair singer Hazel Fernandes can be heard on Nature Boy, a fine cover version of the Eden Ahbez written song with strings and flute.
But Rob and Solomon have even more session singers to offer and it's good to hear Alison Limerick on two songs: Perfect Love and I'm Not Giving Up (This Feeling). Even better to hear Ce Ce Peniston on two great soul songs (For My Baby and I Think About Him). And finally there's the brilliant title song Colour My Soul with Donna Gardier.
Although this album features 8 different singers it still sounds coherent due to the fact that Rob and Solomon have come up with some great soulful songs to create a unique vibe. If you liked the first Full Flava album, then you'll certainly love this one.
