Bossa Très Jazz II
Step Into The Gallery
(Yellow)

This is already the second part of French label Yellow's series Bossa Très Jazz.
Some of the songs on this compilation has already been available on 12" on Yellow like Bohemian by Muro (with a Bah Samba remix and the vocals of Alice Russell) or Brandy Volant with with the 11+ minute tribal madness of Ritual others like Awakening by Francois K. ft. Barbara Mendes were already available on Wave Records.
But we also get some new songs like the co-operation of Tom (of Tom & Joyce fame) with the wonderful Julie Dexter under the moinker Tom And Julie. Such a pity that Like Ours wasn't featured on Julie's own Dexterity album. It's such a great tune and one of the highlights on Bossa Très Jazz II.
Other Highlights includes Jersey Street's It's A Beautiful Thing with its latin influences, Gotan Project with Triptico in an unreleased Acoustic Mix that's really nice with an otherwise seldom heard bandoneon, Blade & Masquenda Family with Bahia (acoustic mix) (which reminds me of the aforementioned Tom & Joyce) and Limbo Experience with the, er, deep Deepest Sea.
All in all this album is a good mixture between something soulful, latin, lounge like and obscure tribal stuff...
oh, and did I already mention the superb song with Julie Dexter singing? :-)
