No compilation about wanting to fall in love would be complete without Billie's "Someday he'll come along/ The man I love/ and he be big and strong/ The man I love", it's the story everyone wishes to come true one day...when you'll meet someone and know this person is the one you longed for all the time (some may say that's just a modern fairytail).
Lover Man has the same topic with lyrics like "Someday we'll meet/ Then you'll dry all my tears/ Then whisper sweet little things in my ears/ Hugging and kissing/ Oh what we've been missing/ Lover man where can you be"

I never understood why this wasn't a major hit for Noel, it's catchy with lyrics most can relate too, telling the story about Noels search for love. But then he isn't on any major label and with a bad distribution and only few records pressed nobody's been aware of this gem when it was released.

Gerald's songs are always more personal and telling us something about his desires and wishes, just like Got Love where he tells us "I want someone that mekes me happy, someone with things in common, someone I can cry to, someone to cry for me, someone without the drama, someone to love me deep" or Love Street ("See I'm tired of talking to myself/ I need someone to talk to/ And I wanna go through the changes/ That people in love do/ See success is nothing baby/ Without someone to share it with/ And having someone in my life/ Would be the greatest gift/ See I'm ready to relax and settle down/ Someone to share my secrets with/ When there's no one else around/ Somebody to tell me/ When I'm right and when I'm wrong/ I'll have someone to sing about/ When I sing a love song/ So if you feel the same way baby"). Isn't it strange that one man's trouble can be another one's pleasure?

Really no need to say something to this aptly titled song.

Do I qualify is more about telling someone about his advantages to become someone's lover. But without the will to fall in love there would be no praising of oneself. And lyrics like "I may be ugly as sin/ And he may look like a king/ But does he know how 2 treat you good" are a welcome variation of what can be heard elsewhere.

That's quite obvious a choice for a compilation named Looking For A Love. But knowing Gary Taylor is like knowing the secret handshake of soulmusic, so who wants to argue with this inclusion? Just listen to Gary singing "I saw you staring down the wanted ads today/ Trying to find someone/ Who brings mening to your life/ Don't believe what you see is what you're gonna get/ Sometimes the wanted ads/ Are painted full of lies" and remember the last time you responded to an contact-ad and were disappointed.

Well, loneliness may be hard to take sometimes, but than do something about it, either fall in love or listen to compilations like It's Over Or The Pleasures Of Being Single And Celebrating A New State of Independence! But on the other hand I'm always a sucker for song-titles like this one, thus the inclusion.

That's obviously for the ladies, but it's nice to listen to the three girls of Sweet Obsession telling us, how hard it is to find a good man and that they are willing to search the whole earth to find that special someone.

That's a song jazz-singer Carmen wrote with Julie Raynor and it's another story of yearning for someone to take care of you "I'm tired of feeling/ Nobody cares/ I'm tired of wanting/ Something I can't have/ I'm tired of the late late show/ And I don't want to wait anymore/ I'm at the end of my rope"

Widely overlooked Stephen delivered a fantastic album with Spirit Tales in 1998. And Alone is another song about loneliness, but it really offers no hope of better days, only the last sentence shows a far away light at the end of the tunnel ("If you can't then no one can save me/ I'm tired of waiting now baby"). This really makes you aware that you shouldn't make yourself dependent on one sole person.
