I've digged that tune up from the underground as I saw "The Thomas Crown - Affair" a time ago. A damn good song going foreward as hell...especially at the half of the song when everything stops and some claps bring back the rhythm for the second part. All the time supported by the great voice of Nina Simone.

As a DJ I'm always happy the discover tunes that were sampled by known acts ... that's the case here with "Sure Shot" from the Beastie Boys. I always like that great flute-sound on that track and was very surprised to find out that it was sampled from this track.

Now let's go ahead a bit from Jazz and do a step into Funk. I specially like this song because i like Austria and lots of sounds and acts coming from there like Attwenger, K&D or Hans Platzgummer to name just a few...These guys are doing really nice and funky music supported by vocals sung in very weird austrian slang. U gotta love it ! ;)

Again a nice track taken from the FM4 Soundpark and it will not be the last one...Not much words needed - it's just a nice, smoth and very deep song!

Nearly everybody knows St. Germains "Rose Rouge" or has heard it somewhere. "So Flute" is not known that much, but it's one off my favourite Jazz-House-tracks and it's got the spirit off Jazz in it

Spinning Wheel is a very special thing. They are not only producers and DJs, but also run a label, a club and a record store. Reinhard Wimmer - the mastermind behind Spinning Wheel - is a long time record-collector and jazz-lover and always tries to combine the roots of jazz and funk with modern influences from electro and broken beatz. This track is a nice and going forward 130 bpm stomper and one of the records I always take with me when i'm spinning the wheels somehwere.

On one hand slice is about away from jazz and funk as they are defined normally. But one the other hand it's some sort of dirty electro-industrial-break-funk or whatever ... ;) I just like that tune !

No words needed for these to guys. The G-Stoned EP where you can find this track is a burner from the start to the end, and the cover is oned of the best there ever were!
